Hub Feenix is a non-profit organisation bringing all kinds of people together.
We also welcome travellers on a budget that prefer to work rather than pay money for accommodation.
This mostly happens through the Workaway, and Worldpacker sites, which create a safe space for people to meet.
After the initial application, we have a video chat, using the privacy of the Signal App
A successful application usually contains the following:
- your reason to join the Hub (not just coming to Finland)
- details about you (your inspirations, what skills you can share with us, etc.)
- the work you want to contribute to
- your plans: timing & itinerary
We have a four weeks minimum stay and usually two months maximum stay.
We are aware that some people want to move to Finland, and we can discuss this once you are here, but no promises can be made for a stay longer than 2 months.
Hub Feenix is a large sanatorium converted into a community space.
Just one hour to the west of Helsinki, about half way to Turku.
It is easy to reach even if it's in the middle of beautiful nature.
After an exciting weekend with a wonderful wedding we took a day of and went to Helsinki. Suomenlinna is a historic sea fortress located on a group of islands off the coast of Helsinki. It was built in the 18th century and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist attraction.
And because the world (Finland) is a tiny place, we run into some of the wedding guests.
